Specialized Shell Configuration (SSC)
DW layers plies cut to different grain orientations—horizontal, vertical, and diagonal (X-shell)—to lower the fundamental pitch of shells, maximize resonance, and produce a complete instrument.

Hardware Options
DW drum hardware keeps shells tuned and true, but they’re also available in a variety of colors to enhance the aesthetic of your customized drums.
Lugs / Colors
Collector’s Series® turret lugs offer an iconic design, while holding tuning and distributing tension to prevent warping. These lugs and all Collector’s Series® drum hardware are available in five color options.
True-Pitch® Tuning Rods
True-Pitch® tuning features 5mm threads rather than the standard 12/24. There’s a thread every 0.8mm on DW True-Pitch® rods or about 20% more threads, versus a thread every 1.05mm on standard rods. The result is a more exact tuning process. Collector's Series kits feature True-Pitch® TP50 stainless steel tuning rods.
True Hoops®
True Hoops® offer a fully rounded top edge to reduce stick ‘chop’ and enhance articulation, while a rounded outer edge maximizes shell contact for truer tuning and tone.
DW MAG™ Throw-off Systems
The MAG™ throw-off has an integrated magnet and horizontal tension adjustment for smooth, easy-adjust action.
Butt Plates
The 5P (five position) butt plate gives drummers five levels of snare wire tension to dial in just the right snare sound.
STM™ - Suspension Tom Mount
DW’s patented STM™ system allows shells maximum resonance while securing your toms in place. No washers or grommets contact the lug rod receivers, so choking is reduced, and tuning is as easy as ever.
Floor Tom Legs
Fine Tune Floor Tom Legs allow you to adjust the resonance of any DW floor tom by adjusting the knurled knob. Available in steel 21" and 25" legs and light aluminum 21" and 27" legs, which are available in the same colors as DW lugs.
BDM - Bass Drum Mount
This series is also available with a Slide Track Mount and Vintage-Style Rail Mount. The Slide Track BDM is available in Single and Double tom configurations in all hardware finish options. The Rail Mount is only available in single tom configuration and Chrome.
